We the Wild is a rapidly growing early-stage consumer product business. We produce both consumable and hard goods at our warehouse in Houston, and have a strong committment to delivering high-quality products and a high-quality brand to our customers at all times.
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Plant Manager to manage our warehouse, and act as the key player for daily warehouse operations. If you have demonstrated experience in scaling consumer brands through US retailers, this position is the perfect fit.
Position Overview:
As the Plant manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing all aspects of our manufacturing and fulfillment and inventory control for the US market. You will play a key role in driving energy, efficiency and quality in the warehouse. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of early-stage consumer product businesses that service both e-commerce customers, independent retailers and big box retailers. You must have a successful background in managing end-to-end warehouse operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manufacturing Excellence:
- Lead the manufacturing team to ensure production efficiency, quality standards, and cost-effectiveness.
- Work with the Production Manager to implement best practices in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Fulfillment Operations:
- Work in EDI platforms to ensure accurate dispatch for big box retailer orders.
- Oversee the fulfillment team, ensuring that they are optimizing warehouse operations and order processing to meet customer demands.
- Work with the fulfilment team to define work with logistics partners so that to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Liaise with sales and marketing team to understand key operational requirements to support growth goals and sales forecasts.
- Supply Chain Management:
- Work with the supply chain team to ensure a reliable and cost-effective supply chain, with a "never out of stock" approach
- Implement inventory management strategies to minimize stockouts and excess inventory.
- Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with all teams; product development, marketing, and sales to align on long term business initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to introduce new products and improve existing ones.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, quality standards, and safety protocols.
- Stay informed about industry trends and implement best practices accordingly.
You must:
- Be a skilled communicator both in written and verbal forms.
- Have mid-expert level of Excel and be confident working quickly to build models and reports.
- Be very technically literate and able to learn new systems quickly.
- Be able to work quickly, with multiple priorities at any given time.
- Have demonstrated experience in cross-departmental stakeholder management. Particularly working alongside sales and supply chain.
- Demonstrate experience in a role that oversees manufacturing and fulfilment processes in fast growing, scaling consumer product businesses
- Be focussed on rapid problem solving and iteration.
