Job Summary:
The Certified Dietary Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, developing, and directing the dietary department to ensure residents receive nutritious, well-balanced meals in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and company standards.
Responsibilities:
Manage daily operations of the dietary department, including staffing, scheduling, and supervision
Ensure meals are prepared according to prescribed diets and individual preferences
Oversee menu planning and food preparation to meet nutritional guidelines
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in all food service areas
Monitor inventory and order food and supplies as needed
Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations (e.g., FDA, CMS, local health codes)
Collaborate with nursing and clinical teams to meet residents’ dietary needs
Train and support dietary staff
Qualifications:
Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) or equivalent certification required (or willingness to obtain)
Experience in food service management, preferably in a long-term care or healthcare setting
Strong knowledge of dietary regulations in skilled nursing facilities
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
ServSafe certification preferred
