Therapy Supervisor (Occupational & Physical)

Location: Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens
Salary: $80,000 annually

We are looking for an experienced Therapy Supervisor to oversee the operations of physical and occupational therapy services. This position requires supervision of both office and field activities, ensuring that therapy services are provided effectively while maintaining compliance with Medicare regulations. The role also involves some direct patient care, particularly therapy visits in the field to maintain Medicare case eligibility. The ideal candidate will combine leadership with clinical expertise to ensure high-quality patient outcomes and efficient operations.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of physical and occupational therapy services, both in-office and in the field, ensuring high-quality care is consistently provided to patients.
• Ensure accurate and timely completion of all therapy-related documentation, including billing and progress notes, in compliance with Medicare and other regulatory standards.
• Perform field visits as needed to assess patients' ongoing needs and provide further treatment, ensuring Medicare cases remain active and are not at risk of being lost.
• Collaborate with therapy staff to develop, implement, and monitor treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
• Review and adjust treatment plans based on patient progress, providing direction and feedback to therapists as needed to improve patient outcomes.
• Provide leadership and guidance to the therapy team, fostering a positive and productive work environment while ensuring compliance with clinical and operational protocols.
• Participate in staff training and development to enhance skills and keep up to date with the latest therapy techniques and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure that all patient records are managed securely and confidentially, in accordance with HIPAA and other privacy regulations.
• Assist in the recruitment, evaluation, and performance management of therapy staff.

Qualifications:

• Licensed Physical Therapist (PT) or Occupational Therapist (OT) with a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience.
• At least 1 year of supervisory or management experience in a therapy setting is preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of Medicare billing requirements, treatment documentation, and compliance standards.
• Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team of therapists.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals, patients, and families.
• Ability to perform field visits and direct patient care as necessary, maintaining high standards of care.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, especially regarding paperwork, treatment plans, and billing processes.
• Ability to adapt to changing healthcare regulations and ensure continuous staff compliance.
