Architectural Project Specialist
POSITION SUMMARY:
Do you have a technical aptitude with a think outside of the box mentality? Weather Shield Windows & Doors is looking for a detail-oriented person to provide technical support for architects, customers, co-workers and sales personnel. In this position you will manage projects through production and deliveries including drafting detail-oriented shop drawings for commercial and residential projects. Review architects plans & specifications and give guidance on product selection. Assist with size limitations, custom design profiles & custom product modification requests. Provide cross-functional teamwork to strengthen other teams within the organization.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Project management: From preliminary consultation through delivery
- Review architect’s plans and project specifications
- Draft deviation letters
- Prepare project specific shop drawings for submittal/approval
- Drafter for special request drawings for preliminary approval
- Process non-standard custom product requests
- Enter quotes and orders - includes manual pricing when necessary
- Create drawings for production when required
- Provide technical support for both architects/customers and internal team members
IDEAL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE:
- Strong mathematical skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Pleasant phone/communication skills.
- Able to work and effectively communicate with customers, project teams (including engineers & designers), interoffice departments and with co-workers.
- Able to manage multiple projects in different stages at any given time.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment to meet project deadlines.
- Knowledge of operating CAD systems (AutoCAD preferred).
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Teams, etc)
- Ability to understand and interpret engineering specifications and other technical information sources.
EDUCATION: Associate’s degree in Architectural Design or equivalent is preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Prior experience in window & door industry is a plus.
