JOB TITLE: Payroll Administrator
REPORTS TO: Corporate Controller

POSITION SUMMARY: Ensure payroll processing is completed accurately, efficiently and timely for Weather Shield.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare and process weekly payroll accurately, efficiently, and timely for 975 exempt and non-exempt Weather Shield employees.
- Manage all Payroll Department activities.
- Receive and process all mail and interdepartmental mail delivered to Payroll.
- Serve as primary communication link between all Weather Shield departments and Payroll software liaisons to process weekly payrolls and complete all payroll related activities.
- Monitor activity in the time and attendance system: ensure supervisors approve weekly, review weekly timesheet notes for time adjustments, answer supervisor questions, ensure accurate hours and payrates are in payroll system.
- Calculate vacation payouts.
- Post weekly journal entries to the general ledger.
- Prepare and distribute weekly report of terminations.
- Monitor and set up excess group life for salaried employees who have employer life insurance >$50k.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, vacation schedules, and state & federal regulations.
- Process child support, garnishment and other voluntary or court ordered wage attachments.
- Process payment requests through Accounts Payable for non-insurance employee deductions, such as LITE Foundation, child support, garnishments, etc.
- Reconcile and monitor payroll totals to include Federal, FICA, Medicare, and State withholding wages.
- Prepare management reports weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually.
- Prepare month-end accrual entries for the general ledger as they related to payroll accounts.
- Reconcile all payroll related general ledger accounts.
- Manage assigned payroll projects, including implementing new processes, software, etc.
- Complete employment verifications.
- Assist with all payroll related audits.
- Manage Weather Shield’s role in end-of-year W-2 processing (annual forms preparation).
- Assist Corporate Controller and CFO with special projects.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, confidentiality, reliability, accuracy, and attention to detail are a must. Ability to deal effectively with stress and deadline pressures are a requirement. Ability to follow written instructions.
EDUCATION: Requires two-year accounting degree or equivalent work experience.
EXPERIENCE: 3-5 years payroll experience.
COMPUTER SKILLS: Must be proficient and accurate in data entry, Microsoft Office Suite, primarily Excel, and able to work accurately and efficiently in Payroll system(s).
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, keyboards, or keypads. The employee is frequently required to talk, hear, and to reach with hands and arms. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move boxes or products of 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this include close vision.
