JOB TITLE : Plant Controller
JOB TYPE : Exempt
JOB LOCATION : Park Falls, Wisconsin
POSITION SUMMARY : Responsible for all manufacturing accounting functions.
ESSENTIALDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Compiles and sorts financial information to establish and maintain the standard cost and perpetual inventory systems
Responsible for setting standards for raw material cost, labor routings and roll-ups and providing recommendations for cost efficiency
Performs a variety of accounting tasks, applying accepted procedures to the preparation and maintenance of accounting records
Is conscious about maintaining records in organized and detailed fashion
Works on special projects regarding cost monitoring and estimating
Prepares annual budget for manufacturing facility, reviews monthly Actual vs. Budget spending reports and discusses variances with plant manager.
Supports plant management.
Monitors month-end Cycle Counts for inventory
Maintains Year-End files for Inventory, accompanies Auditor during Perpetual and Non-Perpetual Audits.
Monitors non-perpetual inventory for changes to month end quantities, determinations on changing to perpetual status.
Monitor inventory to determine if / when Obsolete status changes or IDRs (Inventory Disposal Requests) are needed.
Compiles and maintains daily production records at both the plant and corporate level
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED :
Technical skills in accounting and accepted accounting principles.
The position also requires good interpersonal skills and verbal communications to effectively communicate with co-workers, Auditors, vendors, and customers.
JDEdwards and MS Excel knowledge
Product knowledge a plus for completing IDRs and SPRs (special product request)
EDUCATION : A four-year degree in accounting is preferred.
EXPERIENCE : A minimum of 3 years of previous manufacturing experience in cost accounting is preferred.
COMPUTER SKILLS : The position requires exceptional computer and calculator skills. JDEdwards and AS400 systems are preferred. Must be proficient in MS Excel. Experience in designing and maintaining software systems is helpful.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS : While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, keyboards, or keypads. The employee is frequently required to talk, hear, and to reach with hands and arms. Employees must occasionally lift and / or move boxes or products of 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this includes close vision. Job duties will require the employee to walk out onto the shop floor on a regular basis, including navigating stairs.
