Job Summary
We are seeking a Systems Engineer with expertise in Radio Frequency (RF) engineering to support the design, development, and optimization of RF systems. The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of experience working with RF hardware, antennas, wireless communication systems, or radar technologies. This role involves analyzing system requirements, developing RF solutions, integrating hardware and software components, and troubleshooting RF performance issues. The Systems Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical, mechanical, and software engineers, to ensure RF system integrity and performance across various environments.
Key Responsibilities
Work is performed in an office, laboratory, production floor, or cleanroom, outdoors or remote research environment. May occasionally work in production work centers where use of protective equipment and gear is required. May access other facilities in various weather conditions.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is an hourly position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. This position may require long hours and weekend work.

Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area, overnight or international travel may be expected.

Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize RF systems for applications such as passive microwave radiometry.
- Conduct RF system analysis, modeling, and simulation to validate design requirements and optimize system performance.
- Work with RF components such as antennas, amplifiers, filters, receivers, and transmitters to ensure proper functionality and integration.
- Perform simulation, including signal integrity analysis, spectrum analysis, and link budget analysis.
- Troubleshoot and resolve RF interference, propagation, and in both laboratory and field environments.
- Collaborate with hardware and software engineers to integrate RF systems into broader system architectures.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system requirements, test plans, and engineering reports.
- Ensure compliance with FCC, IEEE, MIL-STD, or other relevant industry standards for RF system performance and safety.
- Strong understanding of RF principles, including wave propagation, impedance matching, and noise figure analysis.
- Experience with RF design tools such as HFSS, CST, ADS, MATLAB, or ANSYS.
- Proficiency in using RF test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, and oscilloscopes.
- Hands-on experience with antenna design and testing, RF front-end design, or transceiver integration.
- Familiarity with modulation schemes, digital signal processing (DSP), and software-defined radio (SDR) technologies.
- Experience with EMI/EMC testing and mitigation techniques.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to debug complex RF system issues.
- Knowledge of wireless communication standards such as 4G/5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, or satellite communications is a plus.
- RF systems analysis with python scripting is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for documentation and cross-functional collaboration.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
- 4 years of experience working with RF systems, wireless communication, radar, or related fields.
- Experience with RF system design, simulation, and testing in a professional or academic setting.
- Understanding of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to RF and wireless technologies.
