Resident Aid/ Caregiver
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Assisting residents with ADL tasks as indicated in their service plans. This includes but not limited to: assisting with bathing, grooming, toileting, dressing, oral care, ambulation, transfers, serving and assisting with meals, feeding, housekeeping, bed making, and laundry
- Always observe and uphold resident rights
- Positively supports residents with emotional and behavioral issues
- Assist other staff as needed on the floors
- Assist residents to and from meals
- Supports resident activity participation by assisting residents to/from activities, encouraging participation, and leading activities when asked.
- Must be willing to work with staff from all departments to ensure quality of care for residents
- Keep environment safe and clean for residents; performing housekeeping duties as indicate don cleaning schedule or assignment sheets.
- Observe residents for safety and report any and all changes in resident condition effectively, accurately, and in a timely manner to LN on duty
- Assist in development and revision of Service Plans by informing supervisor of current resident needs and preferences as well as successful service approaches.
- Answers all resident pendant/pull cords immediately.
- Carry and possess a working knowledge of community call/communication system
- All other duties as assigned.

- Caregivers must be neat in appearance, pleasant personality, be congenial to fellow team members, residents, families, and the public in general.
- Must be capable of using own judgement and initiative in daily duties.
- Always demonstrates safe working practices.
- Maintains a professional image to residents and fellow co-workers in words, actions and in appearance
- Always maintains confidentiality and privacy of our residents and staff.
- Relate to residents in a courteous, empathetic, and cooperative manner.
- Caregivers must be a mature individual. Must possess the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and perform a variety of tasks, often changing assignments on short notice.
- Must have strong organizational skills, as well as the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Must be detail and team-work oriented.
- Must attend required in-services/workshops to further education of skills and community requirements.
Qualifications:
- Must be Drug free and submit to Urinary Analysis Drug screening upon hire.
- Must be able to pass Criminal Background Check, Health Screening including TB test.
- Must be eighteen (18) years old.
- Maintains current CPR and first aid certification.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret care plans.
- Assisted Living and Memory Care regulations knowledge.
- Ability to prioritize and organize assignments.
- The employee shall be responsible for maintaining the integrity of Fields Senior Living
Physical Demands and Requirements:
- Maintain ability to lift 50 pounds; to stand or walk throughout the vast majority of the work day; and to frequently push, pull, bend, twist and reach.
- Caregiver must be willing to be active and on feet during entire work shift.
- Involves light to heavy physical activity performing non-strenuous and strenuous activities.
- Must have sufficient manual dexterity to work with the fingers and to reach/hand items.
