Position Summary :
Weatherspoon Security is seeking highly professional and qualified Armed Security Officers to ensure the safety and security of our clients and their premises. As an Armed Security Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment, deterring criminal activity, and responding to potential security incidents. Your strong sense of responsibility, attention to detail, and adherence to strict security protocols will play a critical role in protecting our clients' assets and ensuring the well-being of the public.
Responsibilities and Duties :
- Secure premises and personnel by patrolling property;
- monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points
- Monitor security compliance by all persons entering the agency at the customer entrance metal detectors
- Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities; informing violators of policy and procedures; restraining trespassers
- Complete reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities : interviewing witnesses; obtaining signatures
- Performs indoor and outdoor patrols
- Ensure the security, safety and well-being of all personnel, visitors and the premises
- Provide excellent customer service
- Respond to emergencies to provide necessary assistance to employees and customers
- Provides escorts to vehicles for customers and staff when needed
- Monitors meetings with volatile customers to ensure the safety of all parties involved
- At least I security wand must be provided by security company at each location.
- Provide accessibility to a marked security vehicle to be present outside and to patrol the property at the Ramsey Street location
- Security Patrol : Conduct regular patrols of designated areas to deter criminal activity and enforce security procedures.
- Threat Assessment : Identify potential security risks and promptly report any suspicious activities or individuals to the appropriate authorities.
- Access Control : Monitor access points, check credentials, and enforce proper entry procedures to restricted areas.
- Armed Response : Be prepared to respond promptly to security incidents or emergencies, maintaining composure and acting professionally under pressure.
- Firearms Handling : Demonstrate proficiency and adherence to firearm safety protocols while carrying and using weapons.
- Safety Measures : Implement and enforce safety measures to prevent accidents, injury, or harm to individuals on the premises
Compensation
The starting pay rate for this position is $16.55 per hour, with potential for growth and advancement based on performance and experience.

Age Requirement : The minimum age to apply for an armed security officer license in North Carolina is typically 21 years old.U.S. Citizenship or Legal Residency : Applicants must be either U.S. citizens or legal residents with the appropriate work authorization.Education : A high school diploma or equivalent is a must or higher educationCriminal Background Check : Applicants must undergo a comprehensive criminal background check, including fingerprinting, to determine eligibility for a security license. Certain criminal convictions may disqualify applicants from obtaining a license.Armed Security Training : Completion of state-approved training for armed security officers is mandatory.Firearms Qualification : Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in handling firearms by passing a firearms qualification test conducted during the training course.Physical Demands
