Position Description
Job Description:
The Quality Control Specialist at Weaver-Bailey Contractors, Inc. plays a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of quality in concrete production. This position involves conducting regular inspections and tests on concrete batches to ensure they meet industry standards and project specifications. The specialist is responsible for monitoring the production process, ensuring that all materials and procedures adhere to quality requirements, and maintaining accurate records of test results, inspections, and any corrective actions taken.
This position is one in which requires a presence on project sites in order to work directly with members of the project leadership team. A momentary lapse of attention may result in grave and immediate danger to themselves and others; therefore, this position is classified as safety sensitive.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular inspections and tests on concrete batches to ensure compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
- Monitor the production process to ensure that all materials and procedures meet quality requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of test results, inspections, and any corrective actions taken.
- Collaborate with production and project management teams to address any quality issues and implement improvements.
- Ensure that all quality control procedures are followed and updated as necessary.
- Provide training and support to production staff on quality control standards and procedures.
- Prepare and submit quality control reports to management and clients as required.
Position Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in quality control within the construction industry
- Strong knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to concrete production and quality control.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using quality control software and tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in the heavy civil construction industry or concrete batch plant operations.
