Position Profile
Weaver is seeking a Network Administrator II to work within the internal IT team. This individual will be responsible for assisting with design, deployment, administration, and monitoring of the firm's internal IT network and related infrastructure systems. The role will support dynamic routing, SD-WAN, Azure vWAN, and the ongoing implementation of emerging network security standards and vendor best practices.
Principal Accountabilities
We also offer in-house CPE and learning opportunities through our internal Learning & Development department. Our multi-faceted internal learning program including technical improvement, practice development, management/leadership training, and whole-life growth. Position Profile
Weaver is seeking a Network Administrator II to work within the internal IT team. Principal Accountabilities
- Administer the organization's LANs, WANs, wireless networks, and access control systems
- Assist with development of network infrastructure strategy
- Create and document standard operating procedures related to network administration
- Resolve network related problems quickly to reduce downtime
- Collaborate with other operations teams and practice staff to ensure seamless integration of network infrastructure
- Evaluate IT network systems to report on potential security risks, performance degradation, or changes to resource requirements
- Participate in disaster recovery planning and incident response
- Resolve, escalate, or redirect service requests assigned to the IT Infrastructure team
- Monitor ticketing system for new and unassigned team activity
- Research and recommend innovative and automated approaches for network administration tasks
- Maintain a positive attitude while working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
- Travel required to implement or troubleshoot network infrastructure
- Actively on-call for emergencies
- Associate degree in a related field, or equivalent work experience
- 3 years of experience working as a Network Administrator, Systems Administrator, or equivalent technical role
- Advanced knowledge of the following:
- Experience in managing and maintaining enterprise-level networks, including LAN, WAN, SDWAN, VPN, and wireless networks
- Knowledge of network protocols, routing, switching, TCP/IP, QoS, VLANs, firewalls, and load balancing
- Proficient in network monitoring and management tools, such as SNMP, NetFlow, Wireshark, or similar software
- Expertise in network hardware, such as FortiGate firewalls, Dell and Juniper switches, Extreme Networks and Mist access points
- Familiarity with cloud networking concepts and technologies (e.g., Azure Virtual Network)
- Data backup and disaster recovery
- Security best practices related to communication and authentication protocols
- Demonstrated ability to:
- Analyze and problem-solve, diagnose problems across multiple disciplines
- Plan for and support multiple concurrent projects, manage time effectively, keep manager and team informed of progress and challenges
- Accurately document and implement network requirements and configurations
- Maintains technical expertise in all areas of computer network, hardware, and software related to this role
- Routinely travel to various locations on and off site for meetings or to conduct assessments, travel may be required with minimal notice
- Lift network, server, and battery backup equipment as needed for installation within server racks
- Ability to ascend ladders
- Knowledge of the following:
- VMware vSphere virtualization
- Microsoft Enterprise products to include Active Directory, Group Policy, DHCP, DNS, SCCM, Intune, DFS Namespaces as well as Azure related services such as Entra ID, Exchange Online, Teams, etc.
- Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language
- Self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail
- Experience working in an agile, team-oriented, collaborative environment
