What are the responsibilities and job description for the Building and Grounds Operations Head position at Weavers Orchard Inc.?
- We are looking for a Maintenance Manger to join our team in the Retail Farm Market / Orchard / Agritainment area of our business. We are seeking a hands-on leader capable of performing and managing repairs / upkeep of buildings, property, and related support equipment.
Responsibilities:
Perform tasks and manage others to successfully perform tasks related to general upkeep and improvements of the property, the buildings, utilities, and equipment . These tasks include, but are not limited to the following:
- Building maintenance & renovation
- Basic electrical and electronics
- Plumbing
- Carpentry
- Facilities and Equipment Maintenance
- Basic HVAC & Refrigeration
- Basic hydraulics & pneumatics
- Basic equipment maintenance and repair ( tractors ,loaders, trucks, forklifts, etc.)
- Manage and coordinate subcontractors , utilities companies, and government agencies.
- Equipment operation as needed ( Loaders, Forklifts, trucks, tractors, etc.)
- Coordinate, plan , recommend, and execute upgrades as needed
- Provide overall department leadership (after a training period of one year minimum)
- Make recommendations and provide project status reports to Head Mechanic, Production Manager, and owner/B.O.D.
- Coordinate seasonal tasks and duties with the Event Operations Mgr., Tours, Coordinator, and provide leadership, support, and training as necessary.
- Additional responsibilities may include:
- Providing training, guidance, supervision, and scheduling to seasonal help.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Age 21 or older
- H.S. Diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license.
- 3 yrs. Experience with basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, facilities maintenance
- 1 yrs. Experience with maintenance management / leadership.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with refrigeration equipment
- Familiarity with industrial electronics, motors, hydraulics, etc.
Physical requirements
- Must be capable of standing and/or walking for long periods.
- Must be capable of frequent bending, reaching, stooping, stretching, grasping, etc.
- Must be capable of frequent light lifting.
- Must be capable of occasional heavy lifting up to 75 pounds.
- Vision and hearing should meet PA driver’s license requirements.
- Must be capable of working in common seasonal weather conditions.

Schedule
Typical work weeks will be 45 hours. Monday – Friday with a start time of 6:30/7:00 a.m. Schedules may vary at times to accommodate unique circumstances or special events. This position will report directly to the owner and senior management
Due to the nature of this position, and the image we wish to convey, we require conservative, neat/ clean attire. The individual will present as a professional. Any other requirements will be found in the Employee Handbook - information available upon request.
