JOIN US AS A WELLNESS BUYER!
We are looking for an experienced, professional, and community-oriented individual to work as a Wellness Buyer in our Chestnut Hill location. This is a part-time non-exempt position, working an estimated 20-29 hours per week. The Wellness Buyer is responsible for product selection, ordering, and vendor relations. If you have experience with buying in a retail setting and a drive to keep current with new products, then we want to hear from you!

RESPONSIBILITIES
Customer Service
- Greet customers in a friendly manner
- Treat customers fairly, consistently, and with respect
- Respond quickly and courteously to all requests and complaints from customers and work to ensure that all customers feel satisfied after any interactions
- Become familiar with co-op policies and products to answer customer questions; refer unresolved questions to the appropriate colleague
- Be able to discuss membership with prospective members
- Assist customers with special orders
- Supervise cooperators as needed
Buying
- Develop relationships with new and existing vendors and vendor representatives.
- Place product orders.
- Research new products and product lines.
- Negotiate pricing and terms with vendors.
- Arrange for samples and demos with vendors.
Product Knowledge & Responsibility
- Develop strong knowledge of products
- Stock and face product as necessary to maintain orderly, attractive displays
- Oversee back stock in the store room and other areas for proper rotation, storage, and timeliness of display
- Create displays for merchandise
- Maintain signs and ensure legibility and accuracy
Receiving Deliveries
- Receive departmental deliveries
- Ensure that all products billed have been received
- Sign and date all invoices and file in the bin for accounts payable when completed
Cleaning
- Clean sales area counters, scales, and coffee grinder; sweep floors as needed
- Bring product displayed or stored outside into the store for overnight storage
Other Duties
- Advise the appropriate manager of product, equipment, and customer issues
- Observe all Weavers Way policies and procedures
- Attend departmental and all-staff meetings as scheduled
- Assist with quarterly inventories
- Complete peer evaluations as assigned
- Answer phones, as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned by a manager or supervisor
- Schedule: Sunday am, Monday am, Wednesday am, Friday pm

- Ability to work well in a team setting
- Ability to communicate with managers, staff, and co-operators
- Ability to supervise cooperators
- Ability to deliver outstanding customer service
- Ability to follow instructions from the department manager or other supervisors
- Ability to multi-task, set priorities and remain calm under stress
- Ability to work independently and exercise independent judgment when necessary
- Basic knowledge of products sold in department and willingness to learn
- Understanding of plant safety and maintenance procedures and of basic functions, controls, and safe operation of equipment
- Able to lift 50 pounds
- Knowledge of Weavers Way staff and membership policies
- Be, or become upon hiring, a member in good standing of Weavers Way Co-op
