Job Summary
This position is responsible for the electrical maintenance and service work in the Utilities Department.
Major Duties
- Installs conduits, wires, pull boxes, switchboards, controllers, and switches required in making additions, extensions, or alterations in electrical systems.
- Tests locates, and repairs trouble in electrical circuits and equipment; repairs and replaces defective parts in motors, generators, storage batteries, switchboards, controllers, contactors, switches, and other fixtures and appliances.
- Maintain a stock of selected electrical supplies; prepare reports and maintain records.
- Services, repairs, and maintains lighting, power, and heating, as assigned.
- Performs electrical maintenance and service work.
- Installs or repairs SCADA fixtures, power outlets, and switches.
- Maintains and repairs air conditioning unit.
- Performs any other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of modern SCADA procedures and methods including computers and applicable software.Knowledge of national electrical codes.Knowledge of installation of emergency backup generators.Knowledge of the standard practices, methods, tools, and materials of the electrical trade.Ability to meet schedules and deadlines of the work.Ability to maintain the confidentiality of information and professional boundaries.Ability to work from drawings and specifications.Ability to perform strenuous and routine work.Minimum Qualifications

The work consists of related electrical maintenance and repair duties.
