Job Summary
Enforcing the Laws of the State of Texas and the performance of specific functions as designated.
Major Duties
- Follow Webb County Sheriff's Officer Standard Operating Procedures.
- Able to work with persons with psychological, emotional, and mental issues and be available 24 hours, 7 days on call.
- Document information on all transports in written and / or electronic formats.
- Must be able to prepare, maintain, and submit accurate records, files, and reports.
- Performs any other duties as assigned by the Mental Health Transport Coordinator.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of Webb County Sheriff's Office organizational structure, policies, procedures, rules, and regulations preferred.Must be able to communicate in both English and Spanish.Be able to qualify with the semi-automatic weapon to proficiency of 70% or above.Be able to use necessary force to restrain or defend the public.Be able to fill out vehicle logs and books and Emergency Detainer order forms.Experience in Civil Process and court procedures, and have knowledge of the Texas Penal Code, preferred.Knowledge of juvenile law, transportation code, and traffic law, preferred.Minimum Qualifications
Must have a high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.Must be a certified TCOLE Peace Officer by the State of Texas.Crisis Intervention Training (CIT) Certification, preferred.Supplemental Information
