Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Optician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting patients in selecting and fitting eyewear, ensuring that they receive the highest level of service and care. This role requires a strong understanding of optical products, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a retail environment.

Duties

• Assist patients in selecting appropriate eyewear based on their prescription and personal style preferences.
• Conduct fittings and adjustments of eyeglasses to ensure proper fit and comfort.
• Utilize Epic systems for managing patient records and appointments while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
• Provide education to patients regarding lens options, frame styles, and proper eyewear care.
• Maintain an organized display of optical products, ensuring all merchandise is well-stocked and visually appealing.
• Collaborate with clinic staff to ensure seamless patient care and communication.
• Stay informed about the latest trends in eyewear and advancements in optical technology.
• Handle retail sales transactions accurately and efficiently.

Requirements

• Previous experience as an Optician or in a related field is preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology related to vision care is essential.
• Familiarity with laboratory processes for lens fabrication is a plus.
• Strong understanding of physiology as it relates to vision health.
• Experience with retail management or sales is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in using Epic systems or similar electronic health record platforms is beneficial.
• Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
