CURRICULUM AND CONTENT DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR
Interested in learning more about this job Scroll down and find out what skills, experience and educational qualifications are needed.SUMMARY : Responsible for the content and curriculum of online, technology driven course content directed at licensed professionals and adult learners specifically in the Tax & Accounting industry concentrating on CPAs, EAs and tax preparers. Guide product line decisions by establishing, defining and monitoring all aspects of curriculum and course development; including content life cycle, defining course enhancements, improvements and evaluating report data.
RESPONSIBILITIES : Defining the content strategy by working closely with resource groups, strategic partners, customers and writers (internal or external).Ensure the curriculum meets business goals and objectives by growing revenue, ensuring customer satisfaction goals and meeting continuing education standards for the specific professions served.Monitor industry organizations and competitors to identify trends, needs, and content offerings to ensure clients have the necessary information to remain competent.Write, edit and review product line(s) content and manage team of internal and external resources.Manage content cost and expenses to planned budget. Participate in the annual Product Line budgeting.Research, verify, and write materials based on a continually changing regulatory landscape. Maintains a strong understanding of the unique regulatory requirements and delivery rules for each channel.Prepare effective written communications, including reports, business correspondence, and professional articles, blogs, etc. in support of the product line.Stay current with industry trends.Participate in industry forums, associations and conferences as a representative of the company.Establish a network of content resources appropriate for the industry.Understand online learner technologies, platforms and feature sets, including its capabilities and limitations.Collaborate with Market Development to address the challenges and needs of the product line.Achieve budget objectives by growing the catalog by ensuring existing courses are relevant and current and adding new courses.Perform other related duties and tasks as necessary or as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS : Bachelor Degree or equivalent work experience.7-10 Years industry experience in Tax and Accounting Industry.CPA or EA license.7-10 Years experience writing and developing adult learner education programs.
REQUIRED SKILLS / ABILITIES : Participate in the annual Product Line budgeting.Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related programs.Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.Reliable and able to work independently.Possess excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS : Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer and / or phone.May be asked to lift up to 10-15 pounds at times.15% Travel per year, mostly to conferences and travel to Dallas.
