Position Responsibilities:

  • Performs required and/or scheduled Preventive Maintenance checks and performs adjustments, cleaning, lubrication and replacement of parts on various equipment to ensure that the equipment is in superior operating and safe conditions.
  • Uses a variety of power and hand tools such as, but not limited to, drills, saws, wrenches, screwdrivers, hammers and grease guns to perform repairs and maintenance of machinery and equipment.
  • Uses machine tool equipment such as late, surface grinder, and milling machine.
  • Uses electrical MIG welder, arc welder, grinder and cutting torch.
  • Repairs may include working with voltage up to and including 600 volts DC and 480 volts AC.
  • Maintenance Technician will set up and operate various types of production machinery and equipment after they have performed a repair or rebuild prior to approving production usage to ensure superior operating and safe conditions.
  • Operates fork truck whenever necessary.
  • Operates aerial & scissor lift when maintenance or repairs are needed to be performed at heights. When work at heights is required the average height is twenty feet. The maximum height that Maintenance Technician will work at is forty feet.
  • Required to read blueprints in order to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
  • Required to be First Responders to any emergency, either equipment or personnel and are trained in CPR and First Aid.
  • Often required to crawl into, under, or on top of equipment and machinery while following OSHA Confined Space Regulations.
  • Required to dismantle, move, install, or repair machinery or mechanical equipment, to repair, rebuild or replace broken parts usually of the heavy type.
  • Often required to work on overhead cranes – such work may require Maintenance Technician to perform repairs actually on top of the crane structure at heights of 40 feet while being tied off or strapped securely to the overhead crane.
  • Often required to climb ladders to make repairs, rebuild or install equipment or machinery.
  • Works on major projects such as complete equipment and machinery rebuilds, design alterations or modification of existing equipment or machinery.
  • Communicates with production operators to obtain information on nature of equipment failure in order to trouble shoot problems and examine machinery or mechanical equipment to identify reason for malfunction.
  • Utilizes electrical meters and hand tools to perform maintenance repairs, rebuilds, and troubleshooting on production machinery’s In-Line Code Jet equipment.
  • Lays out, assembles, installs, tests, repairs and adjusts electrical fixtures, apparatus, equipment, machinery, and wiring. Examples of equipment include, but are not limited to, motors, welding equipment, lighting fixtures, circuit breakers, transformers, programmable logic controls.
  • Installs, repairs, and calibrates electrical and electronic recording devices, and regulating control instruments.
  • Measures, cuts, threads and installs electrical conduit. Pulls wiring through conduit. Splices wires. Connects wiring to fixtures and power equipment. Installs grounding leads. Installs and monitors performance of installed electrical equipment for hazards, adjustments or replacement.
  • Repairs, installs, replaces and tests electrical circuits, equipment and appliances within facility using hand tools and testing instruments.
  • Inspects and tests electrical lighting, signal, communication, and power circuits.
  • Isolates defects in wiring, switches, motors and other electrical equipment using testing instruments such as ammeter, ohmmeter, voltmeter, or testing lamp.
  • Replaces faulty switches, sockets and other simple elements of electrical systems.
  • Dismantles electrical machinery and replaces defective electrical or mechanical parts such as gears, brushes and armatures.
  • Mounts motors, transformers and lighting fixtures into position and completes circuits according to diagram specifications.
  • Maintenance Technician works within a team of multi-crafted Maintenance Technicians and one supervisor. Throughout the day the Maintenance Technician will respond to calls from production operators to perform various maintenance or repair tasks.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Webco has determined this position involves safety-sensitive job duties and will be considered a safety-sensitive position for purpose of the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana and Patient Protection Act (“The Unity Bill.”) effective August 29th, 2019.

Required Education and Skills:

  • High school education or equivalent is required, supplemented with technical college, vocational training, or coursework in maintenance
  • Previous experience in Maintenance Technician type work in a manufacturing facility preferred.
  • Ability to read and speak English is preferred.
  • Mathematical skills equivalent to high school level including the ability to do decimals, fractions and averages required.
  • Knowledge of and skilled in a variety of machining operations, mathematics and blueprint reading.
  • Must be able to communicate, both in written and verbal form, effectively with supervisors and co-workers. Regular attendance at work and punctuality are essential job functions.

Typical Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to work a minimum of 12 hours per day on a regular basis. May require additional hours of work, as required.
  • Requires full range of body motion to include: lifting, bending, twisting, kneeling, pushing, pulling, stooping, and squatting.
  • Position requires frequent walking and/or standing on concrete floor while wearing steel-toed shoes. May walk up to two (2) miles per shift while performing essential duties.
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
  • May require unassisted lifting of a variety of objects from various positions, which range in weight from 5 to 50 pounds with an average weight of 34-37 pounds.
  • Utilizes a variety of hand positions such as turning and twisting.
  • Since the manufacturing plant operates around-the-clock, may often work late shifts and may be called at any hour to deal with emergencies. This could mean going to the plant to resolve the problem, regardless of the hour, and staying until the situation is under control.
  • Dealing with production workers as well as supervisors when working under the pressure of production deadlines or emergency situations can be stressful.

Typical Working Conditions:

  • Manufacturing area of the facility.
  • The manufacturing environment has regular exposure to loud and prolonged noise.
  • Regular exposure to hot temperatures of 95º F to 110º F in the summer due to the combination of the actual outside temperature and heat from the processes inside the facility. Employees are also exposed to cold temperatures, which is dependent on the actual outside temperature.
  • While in the manufacturing area, employees are required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to include noise/hearing protection, safety glasses with side shields and steel toed work shoes.
