ABOUT THE JOB
As part of the customer service team, this position provides support on various projects and daily tasks. This position is an integral part of the team, providing superior customer service to water customers, businesses, government agencies and many members of our community.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (Not necessarily a comprehensive list.)
- Reviews and edits engineering letters and license agreements submitted through the District’s portal.
- Assists with recording and filing of conservation programs.
- Prepares correspondence, water and irrigation reports, and other forms and reports as required.
- Receives incoming telephone calls; provides detailed assistance to callers providing solutions as possible; routes calls to appropriate District employee; dispatches Pipeline/Irrigation Operators to emergency and routine trouble areas.
- Greets customers and provides direction and assistance.
- Effectively address customer complaints.
- Reviews online newspapers for information relative to the District; keeps files for the District.
- Opens and distributes mail.
- Assists with the preparation and file maintenance of replacement water contracts and secondary water updates, transfers, etc.
- Assists with the reallocation process.
- Performs records management duties, such as organizing, scanning, filing, etc.
- Provides support to other departments.
- Maintaining a positive, polite, and professional attitude toward customers at all times.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (The education and experience requirements for this job may be satisfied by any acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience.)
- Education: High school graduation or equivalent, with training in secretarial and general office skills.
- Experience: One to three years of office experience.
- Knowledge: Knowledge of basic arithmetic and general office practices and procedures.
- Skills: Has a good understanding of basic computer skills and the ability to learn how to use proprietary software quickly. Must be able to accurately assess a situation and arrive at a positive solution.
- Abilities: Ability to perform routine and some difficult clerical and office work, to make mathematical computations, to work effectively with other District personnel and with the public. Ability to maintain the integrity of confidential information. Ability to provide positive and effective communication to customers.
