Weber Enterprises Inc., a family-owned Taco Bell Franchisee since 1968, is hiring a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to support accurate, compliant payroll for 1,300 employees across Oregon and Washington. Job Summary

As a Payroll Specialist, you'll support the Payroll Manager in delivering timely, accurate payroll for approximately 1,300 employees across Oregon and Washington. You'll independently process payroll for about 400 employees and manage vacation and sick time tracking for all staff.

The ideal candidate thrives in a structured, routine-driven environment and takes pride in detail and accuracy. This role involves heavy data entry, auditing, and spreadsheet work - perfect for someone who enjoys clerical tasks and maintaining precise records.

This is an in-office, individual contributor role reporting to the Payroll Manager in Eugene, Oregon.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll Processing

  • Process bi-weekly and off-cycle payroll for approx. 400 hourly and salaried employees in Paycom
  • Handle daily separation checks, including time collection, data entry, check creation, and courier coordination

Vacation & Sick Time Management

  • Own end-to-end vacation and sick time processes, from hours collection through payout
  • Verify eligibility and ensure compliance with internal policies and labor laws
  • Maintain and regularly audit tracking spreadsheets for accuracy
  • Review and correct time-off submissions from store managers

Auditing & Compliance

  • Conduct regular audits of timekeeping and payroll data to ensure accuracy
  • Ensure payroll operations remain compliant with all federal, state, and local tax laws

Employee Support

  • Answer employee questions regarding paychecks, pay cards, direct deposit, accruals, and deductions
  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality while delivering excellent customer service in all interactions.

Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed to support payroll operations or broader business needs.

Qualifications

  • 2 years of payroll processing experience (multi-state preferred)
  • Proven experience tracking and processing vacation and sick leave
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including formulas, spreadsheet generation and data cleanup)
  • Experience with Paycom or similar payroll/HRIS systems strongly preferred
  • Solid understanding of wage and hour laws and commitment to compliance
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Comfortable with repetitive, detail-driven tasks in a high-volume setting
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Additional Information

  • Supervisory Responsibility: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
  • Work Environment: This role operates in a standard office setting and regularly uses typical office equipment such as computers, phones, scanners, and filing systems.
  • Physical Demands: This is a primarily sedentary role, with occasional filing requiring the ability to lift files, open cabinets, and bend or use a step stool as needed.
