Weber Group is a design, construction and specialty fabrication company with broad experience in hotel and resort design, event design, branded and themed environments including theme parks, waterparks, museums and zoos. Projects are national in scope, and with some of the best companies across the country.
Job Summary:
Works with Senior Management to help coordinate all activities of the accounting department. Also works with Project Managers to review financial aspects of all company projects. This is a salary exempt position.
Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
1. Directs the accounting department in providing and directing procedures and computer application systems necessary to maintain proper records and to afford adequate accounting.
2. Assists and oversees in various aspects of accounting, including but not limited to:
a. Accounts payable
b. Accounts receivable
c. Inventory
d. Job Costing
e. Payroll
3. Directs all cost accounting procedures together with other statistical and routine reports.
4. Oversees licensing of all types for the Company including but not limited to business registrations, general contractors, architecture, sales tax and income tax.
5. Accounts Payable
a. Direct Accounts Payable department to pay vendors when checks come in for jobs.
b. Post recurring payables and direct Accounts Payable to pay monthly vendors the first of each mo.
6. Accounts Receivable
a. Prepare invoicing and assist with gathering information for pay applications.
b. Applying payments to the respective jobs when a deposit is made.
c. Remote deposit checks.
7. General Ledger
a. Prepare monthly financial statements and borrowing base spreadsheet for review.
b. Prepare and post adjustment entries to the general ledger.
c. Reconcile bank statements for Company and affiliated entities
d. Prepare sales tax returns.
e. Assist with year-end audit and tax return of Weber Group, Inc. and Weber World, LLC.
8. Job Costing
a. Input and maintain budget estimates into the accounting system.
b. Update spreadsheets for project managers for their respective projects.
c. Review the “project status report” and “active project list” for the organization.
d. Prepare the “work in progress report” on a monthly basis.
e. Issue detailed job cost reports to the project managers for their respective projects.
f. Input change orders.
g. Work with project managers on their revised estimates.
9. Payroll
a. Review payroll and workers comp codes and submit to payroll service.
b. Review and submit certified payroll forms to correct agency.
c. Gather subcontractor’s certified payroll forms and review for accuracy before sending to the designated agency.
10. Execute any other duties that may be assigned by your supervisor.
Qualifications/Educational Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent degree
2. Minimum 5 years’ experience in construction related accounting
3. Ability to handle multiple projects and meet strict deadlines
4. Experience with ComputerEase preferred
5. Exceptional knowledge of Excel and other software programs
6. Ability to establish goals and priorities: perceive and analyze situations requiring attention and perform duties in a timely manner often under pressure
7. Strong verbal, written, organizational, and interpersonal skills
8. Ability to work beyond normal working hours, on weekends when necessary
Supervisory Responsibility:
Oversees the operations of the Accounting Department, which include accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and payroll.
