What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Advocate position at Weber Human Services?
The Aging Services Department of Weber Human Services (WHS) is located in Ogden, Utah. WHS was organized by a cooperative agreement between the Weber and Morgan County governments to serve as a local authority for provision of their substance abuse, mental health and senior (Aging) services.
We provide opportunities and support for the senior citizens of Weber and Morgan Counties to increase their quality of life and extend their independence. Our programs are delivered with sensitivity to the frail elderly and those who have the greatest social and economic needs.

-Perform SHIP/SMP counseling including submit Medicaid applications and LIS applications
-Educate Medicare beneficiaries about Medicare and health care fraud through outreach
-Perform case managing duties ( assessments, care planning, and etc.)
Training will be provided.
High school degree or bachelor's degree in social work or related field, plus at least one year of direct experience working with the elderly population or younger people with disabilities, valid Utah driver license, and basic computer skills. Preferred, but not necessary a active SSW (Social Service Worker) license and Spanish speaking.
