Job Summary
We are seeking an exceptional Senior Accountant with extensive experience in manufacturing accounting to join our dynamic finance team. This pivotal role will be responsible for driving financial reporting, cost accounting, and compliance initiatives while ensuring the utmost accuracy in financial statements. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of expertise in cost accounting, inventory management, and financial analysis within a complex manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Assist in preparation and analysis of financial statements, ensuring strict adherence to GAAP and industry best practices
- Assist in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes with precision and efficiency
- Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation.
- Ensure unwavering compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations
Cost & Inventory Accounting
- Drive cost accounting processes, including sophisticated standard costing, in-depth variance analysis, and strategic overhead allocation
- Oversee inventory account management, guaranteeing accuracy in valuation and reporting through advanced reconciliation techniques
- Conduct regular costing updates to inform pricing strategies and enhance profitability assessments
General Accounting & Process Improvement
- Manage general ledger accounts, journal entries, and account reconciliations
- Provide high-level support for accounts receivable and payable functions as needed
- Optimize and administer the company's monthly sales commission program
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement financial efficiency improvements
Financial Analysis & Budgeting
- Assist in developing and monitoring annual budgets and forecasts
- Deliver actionable financial insights and data-driven recommendations to support strategic business decisions
- Conduct comprehensive analyses of manufacturing costs and variances to uncover opportunities for operational improvement
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
- Expert knowledge of cost accounting principles, GAAP, and financial reporting standards
- Proficiency in ERP systems (Oracle experience strongly preferred) and advanced Excel skills
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail capabilities
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders
