A position has been declared open at Weber School District in Maintenance for a Carpentry Laborer. This position is for 8.00 hours per day, 12 months per year.

Job Summary/Overview:
Under the supervision of the assigned foreman, the maintenance Laborer assists maintenance personnel with a wide variety of maintenance work.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Able to work with and receive direction and instruction from the journeyman level people assigned to work with.
- Assignments could be made to a wide variety of work including but not limited to Carpentry, Cabinet shop, Plumbers, Painters, Floor Layers, Electricians, and Grounds work.
- Stocks and cleans parts, storage, and work areas.
- Assist with snow removal as required (shovels, operate snowblower and/or snowplow).
- The list of essential functions is not exhaustive and may be supplemented or adjusted to fit the requirements of the job. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.
Physical Demands
Very heavy work: Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. The work also requires the following physical abilities in order to perform the essential job functions; balancing, climbing, crawling, crouching, feeling, fingering, grasping, handling, hearing, kneeling, lifting, mental acuity, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motion, speaking, standing, stooping, talking, visual acuity and walking.
Working Conditions:
Employees in this position work in a dynamic environment that requires them to be sensitive to change and responsive to changing goals, priorities, and needs. Will work on Ladders, Scaffolding, and lifts.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Necessary to Performance of Essential Functions:
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Hold and maintain a Utah driver's license appropriate to the duties performed.
- Able to lift and work with heavy tools and equipment
Required Education and Training:
- No specific education requirement, but must demonstrate ability to read and communicate at a level required for successful job performance.
- One year of work experience which demonstrates ability to do the job.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
