Job Description : Responsible for teaching Dog Training / Small Animal courses and effectively leading discussions and planning instruction, activities, assignments, projects, and assessments covering the state standards for this course. The Teacher will provide comprehensive instruction on the following concepts :
- Taxonomy, Binomial Nomenclature, and Dichotomous Keys
- Processes of Domestication
- Animal Anatomy and Physiology as it relates to nutrition, health, management
- Reproductive Processes for dogs, cats, and horses
- Different methods of animal training, learning styles, and behaviors
- Ethology and how it relates to animal behavior
- Animal welfare and rescue
- Different competitions for dogs or horses
- Roles animals play in the community
The Teacher will develop a curriculum that engages students in the exploration of dog training and small animal care, fostering their understanding of the basic concepts and application of animal training and management principles. They will create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that promotes hands-on experience, critical thinking, and ethical considerations. Attendance is essential in this position.
