Job Summary/Basic Function
Campus Recreation Safety Team Members are responsible for the training and auditing of WSU Campus Recreation employees in emergency response and risk management protocols. The Safety Team also provides quality safety training to members of the WSU and Ogden communities and maintains Campus Recreation department first aid kits. Duties include: teaching CPR/AED and First Aid classes and testing participants in written knowledge and practical skills, conducting periodic safety audits (practical skills testing) of Campus Recreation staff, providing positive and corrective feedback to participants, participating in department trainings (e.g., CPR/AED, First Aid, Summer Training, Staff Trainings), providing solid communication to supervisor and co-workers, providing quarterly upkeep and maintenance of , facility first aid kits, and other safety equipment. This position reports to the Aquatics and Safety Coordinator.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma
One year CPR/AED and First Aid certified.
American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid certifications are required prior to working.
Candidate must possess excellent interpersonal communication and relational service skills.

Preferred Qualifications
Preferably has management and training experience. Applicant also should possess or be willing to obtain Lifeguarding Instructor or CPR/AED and First Aid Instructor certification and experience.
