Job Summary/Basic Function
The botanical crew leader will coordinate the day-to-day operations of a field crew examining the ecology of invasive annual grasses as well as conduct laboratory and greenhouse work with invasive plants. Selected candidate must be able to comfortably travel and camp in remote areas.
NOTE: This position is scheduled to be an 18-month position funded by a USFS project to examine and map cheatgrass on the Wasatch and Uinta Forests. Ideally the position would span two field seasons (i.e., from April 2025 to September 2026). The position is for 12 months with the possibility of renewal for an additional six months based on progress/funding.

Required Qualifications
Required:
- Associate’s degree in biology or a related field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience
- Six months of botanical experience
- Experience with word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software
- A valid Utah Driver’s license is a condition of employment
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred:
- B.S. in botany, environmental science, biology, or a related degree.
- Experience with field botany
- Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
- Effective communication skills and problem-solving
- Ability to work collaboratively
