Job Summary/Basic Function
The Budget & Institutional Research (BIR) seeks to hire a student worker to assist with dashboard, report, and data warehouse projects. Tasks will include writing script, visualizing data, writing documentation, and validating data quality. This position applies skills learned in mathematics, computer science, management information systems,and communications major coursework.
The position requires a minimum of 10 hours per week, up to a maximum of 20, depending on institutional need and student availability. The wage will be $15/hr.

Responsibilities:
- Write script in dashboard and reporting software that displays data in graphs and tables for end users.
- Explain how data are collected and metrics are calculated in written documentation.
- Validate data quality in the data warehouse and dashboards/reports by checking existing dashboards/reports, reviewing outliers, and consulting BIR staff.
- Adhere to government regulations and university standards surrounding the usage and sharing of personal and sensitive data.
- Write project updates in project management software.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a Weber State Student enrolled in at least 12 credits Fall and Spring or 6 credits in the Summer.
- Must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0.
- Must have a term GPA of at least 2.0.
- One course in scripting, data visualization, or technical writing. Example courses include CS 1400, MIS 2110, COMM 3350, COMM 3840, or ENGL 3100.
