Job Summary/Basic Function
A position directly overseeing classrooms and other teaching spaces supported by the Audio-Video Systems and Design (AVSD) team providing timely service to faculty and staff using IT-managed classrooms as well as other classrooms directly and indirectly supported by IT and AVSD. This position will: 1) Set up, configure, maintain and troubleshoot Audio-Visual equipment in the classrooms, working closely with the AVSD team to ensure timely response and action as needed. 2) Assist with the supervision and assignment of daily workload for the hourly staff taking support calls. 3) Work with the AVSD team manager and TSS Director to ensure classroom equipment is working properly for faculty and students. 4) Ensure all systems supporting the classrooms are updated regularly. 5) Work with Colleges, area CTCs, Deans and Department Chairs to manage and support classroom technology within expanded supported areas. 6) Coordinate and work with vendors and external teams as required to support campus AV equipment with purchases, installation, repair, etc.
This position will be required to work closely with several managers and others that provide directions for classroom setup and use. Employee will be expected to communicate efficiently and in a timely manner when dealing with varying projects, tasks and issues that may occur.
Required Qualifications
Required:
- Associate’s or equivalent experience
- 1 year of concurrent experience troubleshooting technology in a full time position with emphasis in two or more of the following technologies:
- Microsoft Active Directory
- Microsoft System Center
- JAMF
- Extron/AV Technologies
- Virtualization Software
- Terminal Services
- Experience providing in-depth support for enterprise systems and software used at Weber State, such as Google Apps for Education, INB, Argos reporting, Microsoft Office Suite, Windows OS, Apple OS, etc.
- Experience imaging computers
- Experience providing formal or informal training to peers and those outside of peer group
- Experience with virus/malware removal
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred:
- Extron programming knowledge
- ITIL knowledge/certification
