Job Summary/Basic Function
Job Duties:
- Consistently attend classes taught by the mentor teachers at Mt. Ogden Jr. High to get a sense of the mathematical flow – the students will need to identify (approximately) when watching which videos will be appropriate for students.
- Write up transcripts for the content covered as guided/outlined by the teachers
- Design and create the animations for the videos to go with the transcripts
- Meet weekly/biweekly with the mentor teachers
- Learn the technology needed to create the videos
- Record videos for each of the transcripts Meet with the student translator to help ensure appropriate Spanish translation
Students in this position will collaborate with in-service 9th grade teachers at Mt. Ogden Jr. High to develop several short videos demonstrating mathematical concepts foundational for success in 9th grade mathematics. As part of the collaboration, the apprentices will attend classes at Mt. Ogden Jr. High to support and observe the middle school teachers. The student workers will meet with the mentor teachers weekly and pursue support to create transcripts and videos for those transcripts for content decided by the team of mentor teachers and student workers. In addition, all the videos will be translated into Spanish. So, working with a student translator is required.

- Some completed coursework with prefix MTHE
