Position Details
The priorities for this position are to 1) support BTS Arts educators and instructional coaches in the WSU service area, and 2) provide high-quality professional development to BTS Arts educators and instructional coaches in the WSU service area.
The Program Assistant will serve as a Professional Development Partner supporting the BTS Arts program in the WSU service area. This includes informal school visits, follow-up, and assisting with Professional Learning Communities.
The Program Assistant will present at conferences and workshops hosted by the Arts Learning Collaborative as needed. The Program Assistant will support the WSU BTS Arts Internship as needed.
The Program Assistant will attend meetings as needed with faculty and staff of the Arts Learning Collaborative and complete required financial and task tracking.
This is a grant-funded position.
- Bachelors in an arts field, elementary education, and/or arts education required (arts: visual arts, music, drama, media arts, or dance).
- 1-year teaching experience (elementary preferred) or equivalent.
- Information technology skills/experience.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license. This position requires travel to schools and events off campus, and be able to pass all clearances and background checks.
- Teaching license.
- Experience with curriculum creation and assessment.
- Ability to organize, problem-solve, and multitask under changing circumstances or deadlines.
- Ability to drive up to 25 miles per day (on occasion).
