Job Summary/Basic Function
Instruct Upward Bound students in grades 9-11 during a five-week summer academic program in a
foreign language. Design and implement a curriculum that engages students and teaches them
conversational basics in a foreign language, as well as the culture of the countries where that language is spoken. This will be an on-site teaching experience at the Weber State Ogden campus, 4-7 hours per day, 4 days per week, June 9th – July 10th.

Required Qualifications
Completion of at least the sophomore year in a post-secondary institution with a major in a pertinent discipline or evidence of equivalent instructional knowledge and/or experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience and/or knowledge of the special problems of the minority, low income, first generation, and physically disabled students.
Experience in tutoring, mentoring, and/or community service with high school level students.
Seeking applicants with:
B.A./B.S. in the pertinent discipline
A graduate of TRiO program or experience in overcoming the challenges and/or circumstances similar to those of the target population.
