Data Center Supervisor

We are looking for a full-time Data Center Supervisor who will be responsible for supervising Data Center Technicians and Computer Technicians.

You and your team will install, configure, test, troubleshoot, and maintain hardware (servers and their components) and server software. You and your team will also take on the configuration of more complex components such as networks, routers, hubs, bridges, switches, and networking protocols. This includes ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and security of the data center infrastructure while adhering to industry best practices and compliance standards.

This position is 100% on-site at our Ogden, Utah headquarters.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Oversee the quality installation of server hardware and components and take charge of complicated installations/troubleshooting while ensuring that all work performed within the site is done to high quality without impact to internal/external customers and maintain service level agreements.
• Provide training, development, and constructive and timely performance evaluations for the team.
• Monitor the daily workflow of the department, scheduling.
• Performs or assists subordinates in the performance of duties.
• Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
• Handle discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy, with the assistance of the HR department.
• Develop and implement capacity planning strategies to meet future needs.
• Optimize resource allocation and utilization.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement efficiency measures.
• Implement new technologies and processes to enhance data center performance.
• Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to while performing work.

Qualifications:

• 4 years of experience in computing infrastructure, networking, operating systems, or computer hardware.
• 2 years of leadership/supervisory experience.
• Strategic thinker who understands the complexities of how the different functions within a datacenter intersect.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle critical situations.
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
• Ability to function well in a high-paced and, at times, stressful environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of data center infrastructure, including power, cooling, networking, and security systems.
• Reliable and able to work independently.
• Willingness to continuously learn and develop.
• Excellent project management and organizational skills.
• Physical demands - Ability to sit, stand, bend, stoop, push, pull, reach, and lift as required, on a continuous basis, with or without assistance, with items that can weigh up to 50 lbs.
• Regularly walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, climb stairs, twist, bend, work above shoulders, grasp, carry, push, and pull.
• Coordinate body movements when using tools or equipment.
• Work in noisy environments.
• Ability to work extended hours within a Data Center Environment and typically within a heat range of 60 degrees Fahrenheit upwards of 110 degrees Fahrenheit while following OSHA-driven work rest cycles.
