Primary Duties And Responsibilities
- Systems Support and Management
- Responsible for providing effective computer services to all users; determining data processing requirements; knowledge of system capacity to determine project feasibility.
- Backup to Help Desk to resolve computer software and hardware problems for all employees. Consults with users to determine the source of specific error and recommend solution.
- Consult with users, management, vendors, and technicians to assess computing needs and system requirements.
- Partners with the Director of Information Systems in planning, implementing, and supporting the organization's computer network.
- Monitors, tests, and troubleshoots network hardware and software problems.
- Recommends and schedules repairs to maintain network integrity. Understands commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Evaluate the organization's technological use and needs and recommend improvements, such as hardware and software upgrades.
- Purchase the necessary equipment as needed.
- Manage backup, security, and user help systems.
- Test Backup systems.
- Monitor network and system logs.
- Assist in managing the operations budget for information systems.
- Maintain knowledge of industry advances in technology.
- Systems Development
- Meet with department heads, managers, supervisors, vendors, and others, to solicit cooperation and resolve problems. Creates outline from business needs to develop applications.
- Leads, plans and implements system automation as needed for better efficiency.
- Leads in the Re-write and re-engineer custom legacy applications to Power Platform solutions.
- Adept at leveraging new approaches to solutions for system design and functionality.
- Leads with Change Management and Project Management in partnership with the Director of Information Systems on major technical infrastructure/data changes.
- Database and Systems Administration
- Reviews, evaluates, implements, and maintains company databases.
- Acts as the Head Administer and Developer for Clinical and Financial functions within the organization’s Electronic Health Record.
- Systems Security
- Leads in maintaining network security and stability across all systems including firewalls, LAN, and VPN’s.
- Partners with Director of Information Systems on security management and change management.
- Leadership and Supervision
- Serve as a member of the Information Systems team. Attend department meetings to communicate pertinent information to employees.
- Lead, manage and supervise the Technical Support Specialist.
- Recommend and develop Information Systems processes and procedures.
- Actively participate in team building, fostering a work environment that reflects the organizations stated core values.
- Hire staff members as needed to ensure quality work reflective of Hammer’s mission, vision and values.
- Coach and develop staff members by monitoring employee productivity and providing constructive feedback; facilitating conflict resolution among employees; ensuring adherence to legal and organizational policies and procedures and undertaking disciplinary actions if the need arises; and completing annual performance evaluations.
- Maintain and approve direct report timesheets, Paid Time Off requests, and other personnel records.
- Requires relevant education and experience to work independently.
- Work experience in a wide variety of information technology activities including, but not limited to, applications programming, network administration, database management, and user support.
- Comprehension of commonly used technological concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Working knowledge of APIs.
- Working knowledge of Windows Operating and Server systems (Cloud and on prem).
- Working knowledge of computer hardware components (A Training).
- High competence in developing and creating applications in Microsoft’s Power Platform suite.
- Working knowledge of Networking Systems and concepts (Network Training).
- Solid software experience and working knowledge of hardware and hardware configurations.
- Knowledge of HIPAA Security and HITECH Security rules and organizational compliance.
- Strong working knowledge of scripting and basic software development
- Developed written and verbal communication skills. Proven ability to communicate effectively across a diverse workforce.
- Ability to work with a wide range of people with varied degrees of computer experience.
- Knowledge of commonly used software applications.
- Requires a valid driver’s license, access to a personal auto and driving record that meets Hammer’s insurance requirements.
- Able to work in an office environment that is sedentary in nature but may require standing, walking, and lifting up to 50lbs.

- Must be willing and able to work flexible hours/days, including occasional evenings and weekends, reflective of the dynamic schedule of the organization.
