The Receiving Assistant Manager is responsible for supporting the Receiving manager on all objectives related to the receiving department in daily shift operations. The Receiving Assistant Manager should have strong knowledge in receiving and inventory operations such as scheduling, BOLs/POs/Dock Sheets, PO breakdown, check-in processes, item labeling, overflow, PO/stock documentation, monitoring metrics, QA audits, and all IDS functions pertaining to receiving. He/She should also have functional knowledge of the various other departments within the warehouse.
The Receiving Assistant Manager should be able to answer any questions brought to their attention by the Associates while making the appropriate administrative decisions. The Receiving Assistant Manager will be expected to actively engage in MBWA and set an example for a positive Culture.
Above all, the Receiving Assistant Manager should be an employee of excellent standing. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. Occasional activities may involve exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, and exposure to dust, fumes, and gases. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The passage of employees through the work area is average and normal.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Serve as support for Receiving Manager in creating a positive and productive Culture
- Ensure all employees are operating within the current safety guidelines
- Manage and support the day to day daily operation process
- Verify that workload and scheduling are adequate and up to standards.
- Ensure proper training and development of team leads and associates
- Enforcing company/location policies and standards
- Creating a fostering team environment that enables shift to attain daily/weekly goals in a manner consistent with the Receiving Manager directives.
- Maintaining productive communication with all other shifts and departments
- Conducting daily/weekly meetings with all associates
- Monitor the designed metrics system to ensure standards are being satisfied, including accuracy, housekeeping, and productivity metrics
- Work closely with Receiving Team Lead(s) to maximize daily workloads
- Handle all employee questions, concerns, and disagreements with a high level of professionalism
- Utilize systems and reports to ensure the highest level of efficiency
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in operations management
- Associate degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience working in a distribution environment
- Proficiency with MS Office required (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain technical and complex concepts in a simple and concise way to ensure ease of understanding
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to quickly adapt as business needs change; ability to address difficult situations with diplomacy and emotional intelligence
- Customer service-oriented attitude with a demonstrated desire to exceed expectations
- Work is performed while standing and/or walking, up to and including 10 hours/day
- Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing
- Requires the regular use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations
- Requires regular bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching
- Requires the ability to regularly lift/carry 50-75lbs. and push/pull up to 150lbs.
