Job Summary
The Operations Leadership Trainee position is designed for intermediate level candidates who are interested in continuing a management career in the field of operations and supply chain management. The Operations Leadership Trainee will have the opportunity to experience each segment in our day-to-day operations from inbound to outbound. Some of these areas may include but are not limited to Receiving, Picking, Packing, Consolidating, Shipping, Inventory Control, Quality Assurance and Returns. In each area, you will be challenged to develop new ideas and tools to not only support the growth of our business but also ensure that the best service is being delivered to our customers. The goal of this position is to assume a managerial role in our Baltimore, MD Distribution Center upon successfully completing the training period. In your management role, you will be held accountable for the day-to-day decisions regarding the input, movement, process, and output of operations to ensure increased quality, inventory accuracy and service. This position is responsible for providing clear and frequent communication to various teams regarding employee performance, company policies and procedures. An essential function of the manager is to motivate employees to keep pace with our explosive growth while maintaining challenging deadlines.

Responsibilities
- Directly manage up to 20 Associates
- Develop practical solutions to problems without sacrificing quality
- Meet department’s daily, weekly, and monthly goals of the distribution center
- Achieve high performance standards while coaching, training, and developing employees on best practices of our business
- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment which is always adapting to better serve our customers
- Analyze opportunities for growth, cutting costs, reducing damages, and improving efficiencies
- Continually improve productivity targets and process improvements.
- Work is performed while standing and/or walking, up to and including 12 hours/day.
- Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
- Requires the regular use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
- Requires regular bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching.
- Requires the ability to regularly lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 75lbs.
- 2-5 years in a proven supervisory or management role
- Ability to work in a fast –paced and deadline driven environment
- Exhibit critical thinking and problem solving
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Passion for supply chain management and constant process improvement
- Demonstrate maturity, responsibility, and leadership ability
- Flexibility to work off-shifts if assigned
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in operations leadership.
- Associate degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience; Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
- Experience working in a distribution environment preferred.
- Proficiency with MS Office required (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain technical and complex concepts in a simple and concise way to ensure ease of understanding.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to quickly adapt as business needs change; ability to address difficult situations with diplomacy and emotional intelligence.
- Customer service-oriented attitude with a demonstrated desire to exceed expectations.
- Ability to work off-shift as required to respond to urgent needs.
