What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sheet Metal Team Lead position at Webster Combustion Technology LLC?
Lead team in completing production orders and delivering quality parts in a safe, productive manner and on time. Responsible for keeping shop operating efficiently, managing inventory and people to reach production target. Must be able to set up equipment and problem solve issues in department and communicate with other team leads as well as engineering and management. Manage team performance and compliance with Webster's policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Manage workforce to achieve daily production goals: Safety, Quality, Productivity, On Time Delivery
- Manage inventory to maintain stock to produce production orders
- Understanding of Geometry and Math and use of precision measuring tools
- Communicate requirements to employees and work with Engineering, Management and the other Team Leads
- Must use hand tools such as gauging equipment, squares, rules, protractor and special wrenches and air tools, as needed.
- Check machine setting periodically to ensure that parts being made are to specifications.
- Checks department for compliance of all safety rules and standards and addresses conditions and escalates safety issues.
- Maintains a neat, clean, orderly, and functional work area at all times.
- Performs user maintenance on all machines and equipment.
- Work must conform to Webster Engineering quality standards
- Performs other related duties as required
- Set up and operation of all types of machines for sheet metal cutting, punching, forming, riveting, and drilling. Includes ability to set up for new parts from information on templates, sketches, or prints
Requirements:
- Two years Team Lead and Sheet Metal experience
- Proven problem-solving ability
- Ability to read blueprints and machine routings
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work occasional overtime when required (evenings and Saturdays)
- Proven leadership skills

- The employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands/fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb, ascend/descend or balance to heights that may require a ladder or lift; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl in confined spaces; and talk or hear.
- The employee is occasionally required to sit.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.
