NORTH CENTRAL IOWA REGIONAL SOLID WASTE AGENCY WILL CONTINUE TO RECRUIT UNTIL POSITION IS FILLEDGENERAL SUMMARYNorth Central Iowa Regional Solid Waste Agency (NCIRSWA) is a government public entity that serves residents and businesses within a designated service area. Perform daily recycling route operations in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations and the policies established by the NCIRSWA. The Recycling Route Driver will be responsible for performing all activities related to collection of recycling operations to ensure that the activities are completed in conformance of regulations and industry standards.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Typical work week is 40 hours, Monday-FridayAbility to drive a single axle small packer truck and operate a tommy gate on a pick-up truck Perform truck inspection prior to beginning routes to ensure safe operating conditionEstablish efficient routes through business and industrial areasParticipate in all safety training, follows established safety procedures, makes recommendations for safety improvements and corrects unsafe acts or conditions when appropriateInspect recycling material is sorted and collected per regulationsSafely operate equipment that compresses and dumps collected materialsEnsure daily logs/checklists/records are completedResponsible for preventative maintenance, fueling and cleaning packer and pick-up truckCommunicate with management on collection issuesCheck road and weather conditions to determine how routes will be affectedPerform responsibly and professional while driving Agency vehiclesOperate light equipment i.e., fork-truck, skid-steer, mini-wheel loader, pickup snow bladeOther duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Recycling Operations Manager/COO
