General Education Associate (part-time) - Webster Elementary

<sup>PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: The purpose of the General Education Associate position is to, under general supervision, provide supervision for students across the school day.  

4 hrs/day
Beginning Hourly Rate: $15.88/hr
This position is part-time and is not eligible for health insurance benefits.

1. Ability to operate a variety of standard office equipment including computer, printer, ten-key calculator, copy machine, fax machine, telephone, etc.

2. Effective oral and written communiation skills.

3. Must be able to interact in a positive manner with students, faculty, parents, and other staff members.

4. Knowledge of School District policies and procedures.

^{1. High School Diploma or equivalent required.}

^Experience:

^{1. Some experience with supervising children preferred.}

^Equipment:

^{1. Office equipments such as cell phone, multi-line phone system, fax machines, copiers, and computers.}

^{2. Assistive devices such as wheelchairs and walkers.}

^{ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:}

^{1. Supervise students in hallways, lunchroom, playground, and classroom as needed.}

^{2. Work with students in grades kindergarten - 3rd grade on academic skills.}

^{3. Assist teachers in supervision of children on field trips.}

^{4. Assist classroom teacher and pupils in cleaning up after special projects.}

^{5. Work with bulletin board displays as instructed by the teacher.}

^{6. Assist students with self-care needs when appropriate.}

^{7. Assist classroom teacher in maintaining their classroom, supplies, materials as needed.}

^{8. Assist main office and guidance office with any projects or assignments as needed.}

^{9. Maintain student work areas in a neat and orderly manner.}

^{10. Perform clerical tasks such as making phone calls, filing, and maintaining student records.}

^{11. Report incidents of an unusual nature to teacher and principal.} 

^{12. Knowledge of emergency procedures for building and classroom.}

^{13. Maintain confidentiality.}

^{14. Maintain reliable attendance record.}

^{15. Other duties as assigned.}

SUPERVISION OF OTHERS:

- None

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

- Satisfactory health as certified by a competent medical authority upon hire.

- Repetitious bending, lifting, and hand movement.

- Ability to work while standing, moving and/or walking.

- Drug, tobacco, and alcohol-free while working.

- Must be able to see and hear within normal limits with or without corrective lenses or hearing aids.

- Ability to operate a motor vehicle used to travel between sites.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

- Majority of work is performed in an office or school setting.

- Occasional meetings outside the school day.

- Occasional exposure to body fluids, fumes, noise, and hazardous materials and emergency situations.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

- At-will employee.

- Letter of Assignment.

- Per Board Policies and administrative guidelines.

- Performance evaluated annually.
