Description

Summary Regularly support branch management. Coordinate and supervise the activities of subordinate workers engaged in receiving and paying out money and keeping records of transactions in the credit union by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assist with day-to day operating policies, procedures as well as branch openings and closings.
  • Assign duties and work schedules to subordinate staff to ensure efficient functioning of the teller line in accordance with guidelines and policies established by supervisory staff.
  • Receive and process checking and savings deposits and withdrawals; verify cash and endorsements and ensure validity of documents; review proper identification when appropriate; and issue receipts for transactions.
  • Project a positive and professional attitude.
  • Demonstrate exceptional “member service” to our members both in the branch and on the telephone with professionalism and courtesy, responding efficiently and knowledgeably within authority. Promote this practice within the branch.
  • Greet members with enthusiasm and stand while processing transaction.
  • Monitor daily cash limits in teller cash drawers.
  • Scan and verify branch checks through Check 21 system
  • Assist tellers with daily cash balancing and to assure that the branches end of day settlement is accurate and complete.
  • Conduct monthly surprise audits of teller cash drawers.
  • Approve various types of checks for payment submitted by members
  • Address member complaints
  • Consolidate and balance daily transactions.
  • Count, record and audit currency in cash, cash machines, cash recyclers and ATM machines.
  • Manage and order branch cash needs through the CETO system.
  • Monitor and review credit union’s security procedures and control access to vault.
  • Oversee the flow of cash and negotiable instruments in accordance with credit union policy.
  • Train, educate and coach subordinate staff.
  • Perform all audits and maintain all required logs as instructed.
  • Perform personnel functions as outlined in the WFFCU policy manual.
  • Answer basic member inquiries regarding interest rates, service charges, and account histories while complying with disclosure requirements, regulations, and consumer privacy policies.
  • Perform teller duties as needed and ask discovery question to identify opportunities to cross-sell credit union products and services.
  • Monitor, educate and review regular teller cross sell referral programs.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly teller work area.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Assist in the supervision of the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of subordinates. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the credit union’s polices and applicable laws. Assist in training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications


  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret written and oral instruction.
  • Ability to present information and respond to questions from members of management and credit union members.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Education/Training Experience

Certification in the accounting field; One year financial certificate from a college or technical school; two to four years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
