Summary: The Paralegal is responsible for assisting in the preparation of documentation for commercial and residential mortgages for Webfirst Mortgage LLC.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform record searches at Registry of Deeds websites and other property-related websites.
- Organize and track real estate closing files.
- Open new loan files, including ordering necessary documents to process file.
- Prepare mortgage and loan documentation for both commercial and residential real estate transactions.
- Manage and coordinate obtaining third party information for closings working closely with title companies, surveyors, town offices, attorney offices, etc.
- Manage and maintain closing dates, recission dates, and funding dates.
- Cross check and edit documents for accuracy.
- Prepare and issuance of title insurance policies.
- Handle post-closing duties, including obtaining proper discharges, title certifications, and completion of closing file.
- Assist in the preparation of civil litigation regarding collections and other collections-related work, as requested.
- Promote overall BSA Compliance by adhering to all BSA and OFAC Regulations specific to job function and assist BSA/Compliance Department as necessary with any department function-specific items.
- Actively promote the security and privacy of member and employee information through adherence to information security and physical security policies, procedures, and governing regulations. Training will be required at least annually for Information Security topics, BSA, and GLBA; annual BSA training will be position-specific and will include courses on any of the following regulations as they relate to the position described herein: SAFE ACT, Regulations B, C, D, E CC, DD, and Z as well as any other training deemed necessary to promote adherence to applicable regulatory requirements.
- Perform other related tasks as necessary.
Background Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum of a high-school diploma or equivalent, required.
- Additional paralegal degree or certification preferred.
- Minimum of three years of experience in commercial/residential financing transactions in a similar environment (law firm or financial institution).
- Thorough knowledge of legal real estate terminology.
- Proficient with computers; experience with Microsoft Office, Internet, Qualia Software preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Exceptional communication, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment while prioritizing workload in a busy office environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and trust.
- Ability to be relied upon to be available to appear for work, as scheduled.
