Primary Objective : Under the general supervision of the school principal, the teacher is to develop students' skills and knowledge in math.
Essential Functions :
- Creates an equitable learning environmentfor all students that fosters empathy and understanding.
- Teach subject area according to curriculum guidelines specified by the school district
- Maintain ongoing curriculum evaluation and development to meet the needs of students
- Collaborate with other faculty in delivery of proper instructional approaches, working to servethe various learning styles and needs.
- Implement curriculum and instruction in a way consistent with District's mission statement
- Show empathy for and understanding of students
- Share ideas and observations with students, parents and colleagues
- Develop with parents and students a cooperative partnership based on mutual respect andobjectivity
- Facilitate resolution of problems that might ariseinvolving studentsor parents
- Assess student performance often and objectively
- Continue intellectual and professional development
- Followguidance and policies established by the Board of Education
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications :
Mathematics 5-9 certification required
