Description
The lab manager is responsible for preparation of materials for introductory biology labs, managing
equipment repairs/maintenance agreements, and ensuring proper allocation of resources for the
departments research and teaching laboratories. They will be responsible for training and supervision of
work study student personnel. Additional consideration will be given to candidates who demonstrate
competence in the awareness, knowledge, and skills needed to work independently and collaboratively
with others who are culturally different from self in meaningful, relevant, and productive ways.
Depending on expertise, individual can teach up to 6 credit hours per semester in undergraduate Biology
courses.

Minimum Qualifications
Strong attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple projects and timelines
Ability to work across teams within the University
Knowledge of university standards and procedures.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Planning and organizational skills.
Creativity and critical thinking skills.
Ability to work independently and collaborate on a team who are culturally different from self.
If applicable, demonstrate experience teaching a diverse student population, including international students.
Requisite Experience*
Experience working in a collaborative team environment is required - preferably in higher education.
Education: Bachelor's Degree Required; Graduate Degree Preferred
License or Certification: Will need to obtain relevant certifications
