The coordinator 3 serves as a first point of contact for the Advising Center, part of the front office team, delivering exceptional customer service to a diverse range of stakeholders, including new and current students, faculty, staff, and the public. This role is integral to maintaining efficient operations within the Advising Center contributing to the educational success of the university community. Reports to the Senior Director and has special responsibilities to supporting the Undergraduate Advising Team.

- Act as the initial point of inquiry for all callers and drop-ins, ensuring a welcoming and supportive experience though Advising Call Center, physical space, and service email.
- Utilize comprehensive knowledge of university policies and procedures to effectively triage inquiries and direct individuals to appropriate resources or personnel.
- Create and maintain online files for new admits/returning students.
- Assist students with aspects of registration, including new enrollments, course drops, additions, and withdrawals.
- Provide clear explanations of business office policies concerning course fee refunds and tuition reimbursement processes for both undergraduate and graduate students.
- Interpret and communicate academic policies related to dismissals, probations, and holds placed by other departments.
- Maintain knowledge of Academic Calendar and associated deadlines.
- Support scheduling for 20 advisors, assisting with appointment setting for students.
- Assist with undergraduate probation and dismissal process at the conclusion of each semester/term.
- Manage on-call calendar in coordination with Director.
- Explain and promote the services offered by the Office of Academic Advising to various stakeholders.
- Assign new students to academic advisors through Student Information System.
- Manage the department email account, delegating inquiries to academic advisors when necessary.
- Participate in calling campaigns and outreach efforts as required.
- Complete other administrative tasks as assigned including but not limited to, coding petitions to graduate, processing undergraduate readmission applications, saving letters and forms to student files, confirming student information, handling starfish advising referrals, coding leave reasons, etc.
