We are seeking an Accounting Supervisor to join our Myrtle Beach team. The Supervisor will play a key role in the delivery of exceptional experiences for our clients and our people. Acting as a trusted advisor, you’ll leverage your expertise to further your community, grow your own career, and contribute to the success of the broader team.
As an Accounting Supervisor, you will:
- Manage a portfolio of clients that encompass complex projects to meet the accounting needs of small businesses and neighbors in the community, providing superior client service.
- Lead and manage client engagements from start to finish ensuring they are completed within the defined budget and timeline.
- Perform and review: Bank Reconciliations, Sales Tax Returns, Federal & State Payroll tax returns, annual business licenses, 1099s and W2s
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and research financial discrepancies by analyzing detailed account information for financial statement preparation for the Monthly/Quarterly Write Up process
- Compile and review advanced workpapers utilizing Adobe PDF Flyer and manage project workflows within paperless environment and answer questions for other team members as needed
- Coordinate with other staff members to ensure accuracy of posted transactions through A/P, A/R, Fixed Assets and Payroll entries
- Review financial information such as trends, performance metrics, benchmarks, etc. and present analysis in an effective manner with client communications. Analyze client financial statements and provide valuable insights to become the clients trusted business advisor
- Supervise a team of junior staff or senior accountants as assigned. Be a leader within the department by facilitating among BSG department staff as well as coordination with other WR departments
- Maintain working knowledge of procedures and assist with updates as necessary
- Lead client meetings and participate in effective client communications
- Takes initiative to participate in the proposal process and attend proposal meetings with potential clients as appropriate
- Stay up to date with accounting related developments and best practices
You Have:
- BA in Accounting or Finance
- CPA, CMA, MBA or other related advanced certification desired
- A desire to positively contribute to our team and our clients
- 7 years of progressive experience in accounting or business related field
- Previous experience in public accounting is highly valued. Must have experience supervising junior staff members.
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
- Experience with and a desire to manage multiple client engagements and teams
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with ability to adapt style and messaging to effectively communicate with professionals at all levels both within the client organization and the Firm
- Proven ability to excel in a fast paced, deadline driven environment with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong working knowledge of financial accounting concepts including ability to create and review electronic workpapers for monthly, quarterly and/or annual financial statements
