Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for an ARMHS Mental Health Practitioner at WeCare. As an ARMHS practitioner you will assist clients in their home and in the community with learning how to live a more independent and healthier lifestyle. A Skills worker will provide adult rehabilitative mental health services that improve psychiatric stability, social competencies, personal and emotional adjustment, and independent living and community skills when these abilities are impaired by the symptoms of mental illness. The service areas would encompass : interpersonal communication skills, community resource utilization and integration skills, crisis assistance, relapse prevention skills, budgeting and shopping skills, healthy lifestyle skills and practices, cooking and nutrition skills, transportation skills, medication education and monitoring, mental illness symptom management skills, household management skills, employment-related skills, and transition to community living services and housing stabilization. Needs of each client vary and are person centered.
Qualifications
- Social Work and Community Mental Health skills
- Mental Health Care and Psychology knowledge
- Experience in mental health assessments and treatment planning
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care practices
- Understanding of diverse communities and cultural competency
- Associates or Bachelor's degree in one of the behavioral sciences from an accredited college or university - or up to 32 hours of psychology related classes.
- Minimum of 2000 hours of verifiable work experience providing services and support to adult individuals with Mental Illness, Traumatic brain injury or developmental disabilities and substance use disorders.
