Position Summary
The CMM Programmer is responsible for all CMM operations, including calibration and operation of a coordinate measuring machine (CMM).
Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs FAI (First Article), IP (In Process), FI (Final) Inspections and record findings.
- Reads and understands design drawings and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and confirms that the dimensions of an object are manufactured to specification.
- Analyzes process data for suggestions to drive improvements.? ?
- Develops inspection fixtures.?
- Develops and debugs assembly/test fixture then develop operational procedures and work instructions.?
- Maintains database, process, and records of CMM set up and programs.
- All other duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications
- Minimum of AS degree in technical discipline or equivalent work experience required.
- 3 years’ experience in CMM programming with PC-DMIS preferred.
- Minimum 3 years in an industrial environment as a manufacturing or Quality Professional required. (Experience in ISO 9001:2015 / ISO 13485:2016 preferred)
- Extensive experience analyzing CMM reports with validation by using mechanical inspection equipment in a machining environment required.
- Ability to read blueprints/drawings and perform Quality Inspection with mechanical/functional gaging and test equipment.
- Demonstrated use and understanding of analytical problem-solving tools preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong background & knowledge of GD&T
- Proficient in Microsoft Word & Excel. Ability to generate quality reports & use of Microsoft Excel & Word Programs
- Strong communication skills
- Manufacturing Knowledge.
- Experienced in ERP Systems (Epicor Preferred)
- Proficient in using multiple types of inspection hand tools. (Calipers, Micrometers, etc...
Physical Requirements/Abilities
- Regularly required to stand, walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
- Frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Regularly required to lift to 25 pounds.
- The vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
