Key Responsibilities
- Adherence to Procedures & Protocols: Follow NOC procedures, incident response plans, and operational guidelines to maintain network integrity, availability, and security.
- Network Configuration & Deployment: Configure, deploy, and maintain telecommunications and fiber network equipment—including routers, switches, access points, and firewalls—to ensure seamless connectivity and data transmission.
- Troubleshooting & Diagnostics: Identify and resolve connectivity issues and network outages using diagnostic tools, packet capture analysis, and root cause analysis to minimize downtime.
- Installation & Maintenance: Assist in the installation, upgrades, and expansion of network infrastructure under senior engineer guidance. Perform routine maintenance, including software updates, firmware upgrades, and hardware replacements, to ensure system reliability.
- Performance Monitoring & Optimization: Monitor network performance metrics and data traffic patterns to optimize resources, conduct capacity planning, and proactively address potential issues using SNMP protocols and performance management systems.
- Documentation & Reporting: Document network configurations, changes, incidents, and maintenance activities. Generate reports to track performance trends and support compliance requirements.
- Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams—including network engineers, IT staff, field technicians, system administrators, and vendors—to troubleshoot technical issues and implement effective solutions.
- Security & Compliance: Adhere to network security protocols, best practices, and regulatory standards to safeguard data and ensure the overall integrity of the network infrastructure.
- Project Participation: Contribute to network planning, design, and implementation projects aimed at expanding and optimizing telecommunications and fiber network operations
- Associate degree in Information Technology, Network Administration, or a related field; or 4 years of experience in network support in the telecommunications and fiber industry.
- Knowledge of network protocols, telecommunications and fiber technologies, and troubleshooting techniques specific to telecommunications and fiber networks.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a dynamic telecommunications and fiber environment.
- Basic understanding of network configurations, telecommunications and fiber infrastructure, and network monitoring tools.
- Effective communication, teamwork, and collaboration skills to work with network teams and IT professionals in the telecommunications and fiber sector.
- Willingness to learn and develop skills in telecommunications and fiber installations, maintenance, and field operations.
