Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of pizzas according to established recipes and customer preferences.
• Ensure all ingredients are fresh and of high quality, following food safety guidelines.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, mixers, and cutting tools.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper storage of food items.
• Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours.
• Assist in menu planning and development, contributing creative ideas for new pizza offerings.
• Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, reporting any shortages to management.
• Follow all health and safety regulations within the kitchen environment.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a cook in a restaurant or catering setting; fine dining experience is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff.
• Familiarity with various cooking techniques and equipment used in pizza preparation.
• A passion for culinary arts and creativity in menu development is highly desirable.
• Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is advantageous but not mandatory.

For this position the employee must learn all of the duties of our “Inside Help” employees, which includes answering phones to take customer orders, help making all food products, waiting on carryout customers, and assisting the store’s managers in running an efficient quality operation.

In addition to normal “Inside Help” duties, the “Pizza Maker” position must also have the ability to “slap out pizza skins”, and learn to run the operation like a manager, when the manager(s) are busy doing other tasks.

Pay for the “Pizza Maker” position is around $15.50 - $17.00 / hour. This overall pay rate includes the employees’ hourly pay rate, tips and a bonus. We also want to train our “Pizza Maker” employee to learn how to run a manager shift and be paid a higher pay rate when doing so.

Qualifications:

* Prior pizza making (ability to “slap out” dough skins) preferred

* Demonstrate a sense of urgency, accuracy, and quality with all store operations

* Maintain a clean, organized and well stocked kitchen area

* Must be reliable, honest, hardworking and have great customer service skills

* Must be willing to work nights and majority of weekends

* Reliable transportation to and from work
