The Payroll Admin is a full-time, non-exempt position, that will report to the Local HR Manager for the MBTA contract and is responsible for a variety of duties and responsibilities including directly supporting in the processing of weekly payrolls for all location employees.

The Payroll Admin is a full-time, non-exempt position, that will report to the Local HR Manager for the MBTA contract and is responsible for a variety of duties and responsibilities including directly supporting in the processing of weekly payrolls for all location employees.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Process timely and accurate weekly, payroll entries and reports for all site employees
- Field employee inquiries regarding payroll issues or concerns including any investigations into missing pay
- Maintain and manage the payroll system to ensure federal and state compliance while also ensuring that system is meeting desired internal business needs alongside the HR Manager
- Collaborate with the local team to ensure timesheets are processed thoroughly and timely through time keeping and attendance software
- Liaise with Regional Payroll Support once entries are complete and verified
- Provide Regional Support Team with feedback on identified errors, rule issues, or changes that need to be implemented for accurate processing
- Monitor and manage paid time off and sick policies within the timekeeping system
- Prepare and generate reports from systems as required including weekly bonus reports, payroll adjustments, and rate changes
- Create, improve, and enforce company processes and procedures to meet the company’s expectations of a highly functioning payroll department
- All other duties as assigned
- Computer literacy including but not limited to use of email, spreadsheets, word processing, and electronic office equipment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Working knowledge of relevant federal and state wage and hour laws
- Ability to troubleshoot and multi-task while working in both a team and individual setting
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, oral, and written communication skills
- Experience with Kronos Workforce Ready a plus
- Intermediate to advanced spreadsheet skills preferred
- Experience with Union employee groups preferred
- Must be able to sit for extended periods at a desk computer station
- May be required to stand for limited periods of time to present for groups
- Limited walking, pushing, pulling, or reaching expected for this role
Education and Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year experience working in the payroll department of a middle to large size Company, 2-3 years preferred
- CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) is a strong plus
